„Gdzieś indziej” to przedstawienie dotykające tematu, o którym niełatwo jest mówić. To historia małej Dziewczynki, która nagle zmuszona jest stawić czoło wojnie. Przerażające samoloty krążą wokół miasta, ulice są puste, na półkach sklepowych nie ma już nic do jedzenia. Szkoła jest zamknięta. I ciągle słychać strzały…niedaleko. Świat wokół zmienił się w jednej chwili. I stał się nie do zniesienia. Dziewczynka marzy więc o wyjeździe na wieś, gdzie mogłaby żyć normalnie.
Jak wygląda horror wojny widziany z perspektywy małego dziecka? Tylko z tej pozycji możemy w pełni zrozumieć absurd przemocy, jaką niesie zbrojny konflikt. Każdy z nas może być na niego narażony. Dlatego tak ważne jest, by opowiadać o nim młodym ludziom.
Temat absurdalności wojny jest delikatny i niezwykle bolesny. Dlatego też jest często przemilczany. I choćby z tego powodu wystawienie „Gdzieś indziej” będzie niezwykłym wydarzeniem, nie tylko ze względu na temat, ale i zastosowane środki teatralne.
Aktorka-lalkarka sama tworzy świat wojny widziany oczami Dziewczynki. Za pomocą swoich pędzli i farb maluje górzysty krajobraz, wieżowce i wstrętnych żołnierzy, zbliżających się do miasta. Projekcje multimedialne zabiorą widzów w samo serce wydarzeń ukazujących okrucieństwa zbrojnego konfilktu, które – na szczęście – dzieją się gdzieś indziej. A może nie?
“Somewhere Else” is a performance with a theme that is usually not easy to speak about. It tells us about a little Girl, who finds herself in the heart of war. Threatening planes are flying over the city, the streets are empty, and there is no food left on the shelves in the store. The school is closed. And every now and then gunshots are heard nearby. Her environment has gradually changed. It became intolerable. The Girl dreams of leaving to the countryside, where she could have a better life.
What do the horrors of war look like through children’s eyes? Only through this perspective can we fully understand the absurdity of the violence of war and the vulnerability of each individual. “Somewhere Else” is a deeply moving story about the absurdity of war and its cruelty. Therefore it is quite essential to tell all about it to our youngest viewers.
Since the theme of the absurdity of war is quite delicate and painful, it often remains untold. The staging of “Somewhere Else” will be unusual in its means of expression as well.
The actress, and puppeteer in the same person, all by herself will create the environment, in which the little Girl is walking around. She will depict the hilly landscape, high skyscrapers and the creepy soldiers, increasingly approaching the city with her brushes and paints. The video projections will absorb the viewer into the heart of an exciting story about the horrors of war, which are – fortunately enough – happening somewhere else. Or maybe not?

Teatr Lalek w Lublanie (LPT) to najważniejsza scena lalkowa na Słowenii, prezentująca spektakle lalkowe i dramatyczne da dzieci, młodzieży i dorosłych. Głównym odbiorcą teatru jest młody widz. Instytucja została założona w 1948 roku (jako Miejski Teatr Lalek), a od 1984 roku jego siedzibą stał się budynek Mestni Dom w Lublanie. Teatr korzysta z ogromnej tradycji lalkarskiej. Wraz z Muzeum Lalkarstwa mieszczącym się na Zamku w Ljubljanie, stara się pielęgnować i korzystać z wielowiekowego dziedzictwa. Teatr zarządza pięcioma scenami i kilkoma mniejszymi, okazjonalnymi przestrzeniami. W tych miejscach co roku odbywa się około 15 premier, które ogląda ponad 110 000 widzów.
Teatr dużą uwagę poświęca edukacji artystycznej i kulturalnej, a na poziomie krajowym dąży do wzmacniania standardów i podnoszenia jakości programów artystycznych instytucji edukacyjnych.
Teatr jest członkiem organizacji międzynarodowych – UNIMA, ASSITEJ, Small Size (międzynarodowego stowarzyszenia koncentrującego się na tworzeniu spektakli dla najmłodszych widzów) – oraz krajowych – Instytutu zrzeszającego Lalkarzy na Słowenii – a także jednym z założycieli NEECPA, sieci ośrodków lalkarskich zrzeszających ważne osobowości teatru lalek ze Skandynawii, Bałkanów i Rosji.
The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre (LPT) is the main Slovenian puppet theatre staging puppet and drama performances for children, youngsters and adults. Its predominant target audiences are children and young people. The public institution was established in 1948 (as the City Puppet Theatre) and has been based in Mestni dom in Ljubljana since 1984. In its work, the LPT builds on the hundred-year tradition of Slovenian puppetry. With the establishment of the Museum of Puppetry at the Ljubljana Castle, the LPT officially became the caretaker of this precious, century-old heritage. The theatre manages five regular and several smaller, occasional venues. At these venues, which offer seating for approximately a thousand people, it produces fifteen premieres a year and is visited by around 110,000 spectators.
The LPT pays special attention to cultural and artistic education in all its dimensions and at the national level cooperates in the endeavours to strengthen the standards and quality of the cultural programmes of educational institutions.
The LPT is a member of the International Puppetry Association UNIMA, ASSITEJ – International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People, the Slovenian Puppetry Artists Institution, Small Size, an international association focused on productions for early years (under six years of age), and one of the founding members of NEECPA, a network of puppet centres joining primarily the key players from Scandinavia, Baltic region and Russia.
