Teatr Pietruszki to uliczna ludowa farsa sięgająca swymi korzeniami XVIII wieku. Jeden aktor animuje lakę Pietruszki, jak również pozostałych bohaterów. Pomagają mu muzycy, którzy pełnią rolę pośredników między Pietruszką a widzami, ponieważ bohater ten dziwnie mówi… mówi w sposób, w jaki mówią zmarli….
Ten efekt animator uzyskuje dzięki modulatorowi głosu zwanemu pivetta lub swazzle – instrumentowi potwierdzającemu zdolności aktora-lalkarza.
Theatre of Petrushka is a street folksy farcical comedy which originated in the 18th. century. The master of puppets who plays this performance controls and animates Petrushka and all other characters of the play. Musicians help him and in this way provide understanding between Petrushka and the audience because Petrushka …has a strange voice… he speaks in the language of the dead… Special instrument makes this strange voice. It is voice modulator called pivetta or swizzle – an instrument confirming the skills of an actor-puppeteer.

Department of Puppet Theater
Instytut Teatralny w Nowosybirsku powstał w roku 1960 na bazie teatru szkolnego działającego na terenie miasta. Instytut kształci na dwóch kierunkach: aktorstwo (ze specjalizacjami: aktor teatralny i filmowy, aktor teatru muzycznego, aktor teatru lalek, artysta cyrkowy) i reżyseria teatralna. Wysoką jakość treningu gwarantują sprawdzone metody pracy połączone z najnowszymi trendami. W Instytucie działa Stowarzyszenie Metodyczne zrzeszające wykładowców z każdej dziedziny, co ułatwia wymianę doświadczeń. Studia magisterskie prowadzone są na kierunkach aktorstwo, reżyseria i scenopisarstwo. Na uczelni znajduje się również teatr edukacyjny, z dużą i małą sceną oraz laboratoria treningowe i produkcyjne. Studia na Wydziale Teatru Lalek trwają cztery lata i kończą się 7 lub 8 spektaklami dyplomowymi, które często są nagradzane na festiwalach w Rosji i Kazachstanie.
Novosibirsk State Theatre Institute was opened on the basis of school theatre that had worked in the city since 1960. The Institute conduct studies in two specializations: “Acting Art” (with specializations “Artist of Drama Theatre and Cinema”, “Artist of Musical Theatre”, “Artist of Puppet Theatre”, “Artist of Circus and Variety Art”), as well as “Theatre Directing”. High quality of training is guaranteed by the use of classical methods of training along with new developments. In the Institute, there is a methodical Association of teachers of theatrical disciplines, which allows them to share experiences. Master classes are conducted regularly for directors, actors and screenwriters. In NGTI, there is an educational theatre, with the main and small stages as well as training and production laboratories. At the Department of Puppet Theatre, students study for 4 years and by the end of training prepare 7-8 diploma performances, which become laureates and of various competitions in Russia and Kazakhstan.
